This was my first meeting using fully English, especially when it was video-taped. In my opinion, though all of us were nervous, I think our discussion flowed well.
Our group is a bit different as we are divided into a group of four, one member more compared as other groups. Before the meeting, Kimberly sent us an agenda with solid timeline. And we stuck to it throughout our meeting. Thanks to it, we finished on time.
For myself, I believe my English is the first thing to be improved for future meetings. Because I don’t have a good command of English, I often had to elaborate again. But Ryan, Kimberly and Johnson did patiently try to understand my contribution.
Ryan gave his opinions, but maybe because of his style of thinking, he speak less than normal. However, he still sometimes gave us constructive ideas.
Kimberly is our group leader. She did very well to make us follow the agenda. She started with giving the outline of the meeting, and then during our meeting, she informed us of the next goal and concluded what we had done so far. Though she had some uninteresting actions, she still showed her leadership.
Johnson was the most active in our meeting. He contributed most ideas, and also took note of the meeting. His prior programming experience helps us a lot when we were puzzled about how to implement some functions and the suitable data types, because my team had little programming knowledge except for Johnson. In spite of it, Johnson’s tone was too strong sometimes.
In short, I believe our meeting went well till the end. We should endeavor to be more prepared to improve efficiency. The meeting was a good experience and I learned a lot about how a team works.
